StableDRIVE gravel stabilisation panels provide a secure gravel containment and reinforcement system, designed to cope with vehicular traffic, up to and including commercial, utility and emergency traffic.

The system is ideal for car parking, access roads, hard standings, laybyes, caravan sites and even helicopter landing pads. The system will prevent gravel migration and rutting or spreading.

StableDRIVE can also be used in pedestrian and wheel chair applications, provided suitable gravel size is carefully selected to be comfortable underfoot.

Benefits:

  • Strong and flexible in use, the units have been independently tested to confirm compressive strengths of 280 tonnes per m², coping easily with axle weights up to 65 tonnes.
  • Units have an integrated clip joining system that aids lateral restraint which is fast and simple to install. Supplied ready clipped together in 1 m² sections (4 x panels) which can be simply extended or separated on site.
  • Honeycomb structure is 50 mm across, which allows gravel sizes up to 20 mm to be utilised. However, smaller aggregate sizes may be used without detriment.
  • The units are manufactured in the UK from 100% UK sourced recycled MDPE, so adding eco friendly and sustainable credentials to the product.
  • The system, once installed is free draining throughout, significantly reducing demand on surface water drainage capacity.
  • Supplied in pallet quantities of 40 m² per pallet, for just in time construction, StableDRIVE reduces site congestion, associated with other paving options.
  • The units are lightweight and easily handled on site.
  • Construction is unaffected by adverse weather. Productivity rates are high, requiring no specialist skills, leading to very cost effective installation.
  • Gravel filled StableDRIVE creates a natural alternative to resin bound surfaces, which is easily maintained, non intrusive and very much in keeping with local surroundings.

    Limitations:

  • Whilst StableDRIVE can be used on reasonable slopes, and is in fact a very good slope stabilizing unit, gradients over 1:10 will result in migration of the top dressing of gravel, exposing the outline of the honeycomb which, in heavy traffic situations, may compromise long term durability.
  • The system is not designed for constant HGV traffic, other than as parking bays.
