Agapanthus 'Stéphanie Charm' (D)
Common name: Stéphanie Charm African Lily
Description: This charming compact agapanthus cultivar combines an exceptionally floriferous nature with a neat, controlled growth habit. 'Stéphanie Charm' produces abundant spherical flower heads comprised of delicate lavender-blue florets with darker mid-veins, creating a subtle bicolour effect. The blooms are held aloft on strong, slender stems above neat clumps of arching, strap-like foliage. Flowering from mid to late summer, this variety adds a touch of exotic elegance to the garden just when many other perennials are beginning to fade. The attractive seedheads that follow the flowers persist well into autumn, extending the seasonal interest. As a deciduous to semi-evergreen variety (depending on winter temperatures), 'Stéphanie Charm' dies back in colder regions but maintains some foliage in milder areas. Its compact size makes it perfect for containers, front of borders, and smaller garden spaces.
