This apple tree was discovered in New Zealand in Upper Outere, Nelson and was brought into commercial production in 1952. Well known through its supermarket successes, it is an excellent eating apple and is grown widely around the world. It does not always ripen successfully when grown in the UK as it prefers slightly warmer conditions to give of its best. It is ready for picking during October. Rootstock MM106 (Semi-vigorous) - up to 3-5m in height - larger, robust tree for grassed orchards, not suitable for small gardens, may need support for 5 years.
