Prunus laurocerasus 'Caucasica' - 150 cm+ 7.5 litre (Laurel)
Common name: Caucasica Cherry Laurel
Description: This robust cultivar of cherry laurel forms a large, vigorous evergreen shrub with an upright, somewhat open growth habit. 'Caucasica' is distinguished by its particularly large, glossy, deep green leaves that can reach up to 25cm in length, creating a bold, architectural presence in the garden. The foliage is broader and more elongated than the species, with a slightly wavy margin and pronounced central vein. In mid to late spring, upright racemes of small, fragrant white flowers appear, which are attractive to pollinators. These are followed by cherry-like berries that ripen from red to black in autumn (though all parts of the plant are toxic to humans). This cultivar is notably cold-hardy and shows good resilience to harsh conditions, making it particularly suitable for exposed sites and northern gardens. It grows relatively quickly to form an effective screen or windbreak.
Other benefits: excellent for screening, pollution tolerant, urban-friendly, wind resistant, quick-growing
