Multidisciplinary and creative, Tim has over 35 years’ experience in the landscape, nursery and garden centre markets and started Cedar Nursery in 1986 with his wife, Kate. Since then he has created many award-winning gardens at Hampton Court Flower Show and also heads the judging team for the Daily Mail National Garden Competition. His continual drive and enthusiasm for Cedar Nursery has meant sustained growth and success for the company which supplies many individuals and organisations such as the RHS and Royal Botanic Garden, Kew.
Alison Caldwell - Landscape Architect

Alison qualified as a Landscape Architect in 1988, she also has an MA in Horticulture and a degree in Housing Development. She joined our team in 2014 as our full-time chartered Landscape Architect, also offering our cutting-edge 3D landscape design services.
She is inspired by Garden History and it's influence on Garden Design. Whilst living and working abroad she also appreciated the opportunity to study plants in their natural habitats and growing conditions, across 3 different Continents.
Alison's wealth of Garden Design experience is across sectors, so for example, her projects could range from designing a Contemporary Country Garden for a Private Residence, with the next being a Commercial Landscape Design for a hotel.
Dave Spinks - Nursery Manager

Dave has worked in Garden Centre management for over 15 Years, in both independent and family-run businesses and joined Cedar Nursery in 2013. Dave has a successful record of sourcing and growing plants from around Europe, specialising in locating varieties which thrive in the UK and always aiming to try something new. His knowledge of plants and gardening is immediately apparent and he brings great energy and enthusiasm to the Nursery. Dave loves the more informal type of gardens but moreover his interest lies in the plants themselves. His top tip for a thriving garden is: 'keep your plants fed'.
Don Carroll - Assistant Nursery Manager

A nurseryman’s nursery man, Don is Assistant Nursery Manager and works directly under Dave looking after the plant area. Prior to his training at Merrist Wood, he gained a degree in History, worked in insurance and as a Tax Officer but now has over 25 years’ experience in garden nursery stock production, including budding, grafting, division and propagation. Don has a special interest in trees and is particularly inspired by the collections at Westonbirt Arboretum. He favours a spartan and minimalist look in the garden, and his advice is to 'keep it neat and tidy'. He lives in Dorking with his wife.
Louise Fifield - Sales Executive, Specialism Garden Planters

Louise's background is from Corporate and the Private sector but she brings a wealth of sales, support and management experience to the Nursery.
She is very customer focused and enjoys relationship building, with her customers, she believes in treating people how you would like to be treated yourself.
Claire Portman - Sales Executive, Specialism Garden Furniture

Claire joined Cedar Nursery in Spring 2018 to assist with sales of garden buildings and furniture. She has a sales and project management background in the building industry serving the domestic sector. Claire has one grown up daughter and the other love of her life is her dog Ruby – a Hungarian Vizsla.
When asked what she most enjoys about her job she said ‘It’s the variety of the role and dealing with the general public - meeting and talking with interesting people from all walks of life’.
Carina Horn - Accounts/Plant Area Assistant

Another member of Cedar Nursery's multi-disciplined team, Carina joined us more than 10 years ago and, over the years, has seen the business grow. During this time she has been active in many different areas, including our accounts, but also spends time in the plant area; where she has an incredible eye for creating beautiful planting displays, attention to detail and tidiness.
Carina comes from Norway and brings with her a refreshing, northerly and no-nonsense attitude to all her duties and activities here. She is a keen horticulturist and spends many hours redesigning and working in her own garden. Carina lives locally with her husband and 3 sons.
Lynda Wales - Plant Consultant

After a successful city career in law Lynda turned her skills to horticulture and has been with us since 2005. Enthusiastic, smart and energetic, Lynda juggles two roles at Cedar Nursery. In addition to being a knowledgeable and experienced member of the Nursery team, she also works closely with the landscape design team producing plant placing schemes to deliver the best creative results for her clients. When she’s not living locally with her husband and 3 almost grown-up children, she can be found enjoying the high-life in the Alps.

Tabitha - Social Media Manager
Tabitha joined the Cedar Nursery team in 2020, whilst studying for her degree in Graphic Design.
Following a background in property she has a keen interest in all things renovation and design. Despite being particular about interiors, she loves a wild garden, especially one that encourages wildlife of all shapes and sizes!
Tabitha lives locally in Surrey with her partner but enjoys escaping to her family home whenever possible!
