This compact Japanese maple cultivar produces brilliant spring foliage that emerges in vivid red tones, gradually deepening to burgundy-red through summer before transforming into spectacular orange-red autumn colours.
The deeply lobed, palmate leaves maintain excellent colour throughout the growing season, making 'Shaina' one of the most reliable red-leafed varieties.
This naturally dwarf cultivar develops into a dense, rounded shrub with an attractive branching structure. The inconspicuous purple-red flowers appear in spring, followed by small winged seeds. 'Shaina' is particularly valued for its consistent colouration and compact habit, making it ideal for smaller British gardens.
