Common name: Norway maple

Description: A compact, slow-growing form of the popular purple-leaved Norway maple, with a neat, dense, pyramidal to oval habit. Deep purple foliage holds its colour through summer before a bronze-red autumn finish, making it a more manageable alternative to 'Crimson King' for smaller gardens.

Other benefits: compact habit suits smaller gardens and avenues, reliable deep purple colour, tolerant of pollution

Wildlife attraction: bees

Height & spread (approx.) at 10 years: 4m x 2.5m

Position: full sun or partial shade

Soil pH: acid to alkaline

Moisture: moist but well-drained

Winter hardiness: fully hardy to below -25°C
