Acer rubrum Red Sunset ='Franksred'
An excellent deciduous tree, commonly known as Red maple, for structure and long-term presence, notable for fine autumn tints.
Growing to around 2.5m tall by 2m wide at 10 years. It is best in full sun, in acid to neutral soils, and prefers moisture-retentive soil. It produces red flowers in spring, with attractive grey bark and red fruits. Fully hardy throughout the UK and the flowers are a good nectar source for bees. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
