A first-rate deciduous tree offering real character in the landscape.
Depending on variety, expect a height of 2.5m-20m and a spread of 1m-15m. It is best in full sun, though it tolerates some shade, in acid to neutral soils, and prefers moisture-retentive soil. It produces red flowers, with attractive grey bark and red fruits. Hardy in most conditions and the flowers are a good nectar source for bees.

Acer rubrum 'Sun Valley' is a beautiful garden tree with a symmetrical shape. In spring, it boasts tiny flowers and bright green leaves that turn vibrant red in mid-autumn.
