Agave ferox
Common name: Fierce agave
Description: Agave ferox is a large, commanding agave forming an imposing rosette of broad, grey-green leaves armed with fierce marginal teeth and a stout, formidable terminal spine — quite true to its name. The strongly textured leaves have a glaucous sheen and the overall effect is highly architectural and dramatic. A bold focal point for a large container, sheltered courtyard, or Mediterranean-style gravel planting, it develops slowly but makes an increasingly impressive specimen over time.
Other benefits: architectural specimen, drought tolerant, low maintenance, deer resistant, highly impactful focal point
Height & spread (approx.) at 10 years: 0.9m x 1.2m
Position: Full sun; warm, sheltered position; excellent drainage essential
Soil pH: Neutral to slightly alkaline; tolerates poor, well-drained soils

Winter hardiness: Cold hardy to approximately -6°C; protect from prolonged hard frost and winter wet
