A versatile deciduous shrub, commonly known as Japanese angelica tree, that earns its place in borders and mixed plantings, prized for its autumn colour.
Reaching around 3.5m tall by 3m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils. It produces white flowers in summer, autumn, with ornamental grey stems. Reliably hardy across most of the UK and the flowers are a good nectar source for bees. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
