Description: This robust evergreen perennial forms clumps of large, glossy, paddle-shaped leaves that provide excellent ground cover throughout the year. In winter, the thick leathery foliage develops rich burgundy and purple tones, creating outstanding seasonal interest. Come spring, sturdy stems emerge bearing clusters of deep pink to magenta bell-shaped flowers that rise above the foliage. The plant spreads slowly by underground rhizomes, forming attractive colonies over time. This reliable perennial thrives in difficult conditions where many plants struggle.
