Betula utilis var. jacquemontii 'Grayswood Ghost'
A first-rate deciduous tree, commonly known as Himalayan birch, offering real character in the landscape, notable for fine autumn tints.
Expect it to reach around 9m tall by 3m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. It produces brown flowers in winter, spring, with attractive silver bark. Fully hardy throughout the UK and the flowers are a good nectar source for bees. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
