Camellia japonica

An attractive evergreen shrub, commonly known as Japanese camellia, that performs well in a range of garden settings, valued for its fragrant pink flowers.

Expect it to reach around 3m tall by 2m wide at 10 years. It is best in partial to light shade, in acid to neutral soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Reliably hardy across most of the UK.
