Cercis chinensis 'Avondale'
A versatile deciduous shrub, commonly known as Chinese redbud, that earns its place in borders and mixed plantings, prized for its autumn colour.
Reaching around 3m tall by 3m wide at 10 years. Happy in sun or partial shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. It produces red flowers in spring, with beige fruits and ornamental grey stems. Reliably hardy across most of the UK and the flowers are a good nectar source for bees. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
