Cercis siliquastrum
A handsome deciduous tree, commonly known as Judas tree, that makes a fine specimen in the garden, notable for fine autumn tints.
Reaching around 3m tall by 3m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil and is drought-tolerant once established. It produces pink flowers in spring, with red fruits. Reliably hardy across most of the UK and the flowers are a good nectar source for bees.
