Clematis montana var. grandiflora (M)

A vigorous deciduous climber, commonly known as Anemone clematis, for walls, fences and pergolas, grown for its pink flowers in spring, summer.

It grows to around 6m tall with a spread of 5m. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Reliably hardy across most of the UK and the flowers are a good nectar source for bees. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
