Cornus sanguinea 'Midwinter Fire'
A first-rate deciduous large shrub or small tree, commonly known as Common dogwood, offering real character in the landscape, notable for fine autumn tints.
Expect it to reach around 2m tall by 2m wide at 10 years. It is best in full sun, though it tolerates some shade, in acid to alkaline soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. It produces white flowers in summer, with attractive red bark. Fully hardy throughout the UK and valuable for wildlife, attracting bees and butterflies.
