Citrus hystrix (Keffir Lime)
Common name: Kaffir Lime
Description: Citrus hystrix, the Kaffir Lime, is a compact evergreen citrus tree grown primarily for its highly aromatic, distinctively double-lobed leaves, which are an essential ingredient in South-East Asian cooking. The glossy, deep green foliage is wonderfully fragrant when crushed, and the plant occasionally produces small, highly perfumed white flowers followed by rough-skinned, dark green fruits. Ideal as a conservatory or patio plant in the UK, it thrives in a bright, sheltered spot and can be moved outdoors in summer.
