Digitalis 'Hanabee Pink'
Description: Digitalis purpurea 'Hanabee Pink' is a compact, dwarf foxglove cultivar specifically bred for smaller gardens and container cultivation. Unlike traditional tall foxgloves, this charming perennial forms a neat, upright clump reaching 40–50 cm in height, making it ideal for cottage garden borders, herbaceous beds, and patio containers. Throughout summer, from June to August, it produces abundant spires of soft pink, tubular flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. The basal rosette of green foliage provides structure even when not in flower. Fully hardy in South England (RHS H4), it thrives in moist but well-drained soil enriched with organic matter and performs well in partial shade to dappled sunlight. The plant is low-maintenance once established, requiring only regular watering during dry spells and deadheading to encourage prolonged flowering. Its compact habit makes it perfect for the front of borders or as a standalone feature in containers. All parts are toxic if ingested; plant away from children and pets.
Other benefits: evergreen, borders, cottage-garden, pollinator-planting
Position: full sun to partial shade
Winter hardiness: cold hardy to -10°C
