Description: Lavandula x intermedia 'Grosso' is one of the finest and most widely grown lavenders, producing tall, elegant spikes of intense violet-purple flowers above silvery-grey aromatic foliage from midsummer. The flowers are held on long, sturdy stems making them excellent for cutting and drying, retaining their fragrance for months. One of the most productive and strongly scented lavenders, 'Grosso' is widely grown commercially for its essential oil. Its bushy, upright habit and abundance of bloom make it an outstanding garden plant for borders, gravel gardens, and low hedging.
