Description: Origanum vulgare, common oregano, is one of the most useful and aromatic culinary herbs, producing compact mounds of small, intensely flavoured and fragrant leaves that are indispensable in Mediterranean cooking. From midsummer, the plants are covered in a haze of tiny pink to lilac flowers on wiry stems that are irresistible to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. This Growers Mix selection offers particularly good flavour and form. Hardy and drought tolerant once established, it thrives in a sunny, well-drained spot and can be cut back hard after flowering to encourage fresh growth.
