Scabious Kudo White ='Ichwhit' (Kudo Series)

Common name: Scabious Kudo White

Description: This outstanding herbaceous perennial produces masses of pure white pincushion-like flowers from early summer right through to the first frosts. Each flower head measures 5-7cm across and features numerous small florets arranged in a dome shape with prominent stamens creating a delicate, lacy effect. The flowers are held on slender, wiry stems well above the basal foliage, creating an airy, floating appearance in the border. The grey-green, deeply divided leaves form neat clumps at the base of the plant. 'Kudo White' is exceptionally free-flowering and remarkably long-blooming, providing months of continuous colour with virtually no maintenance required beyond occasional deadheading to encourage more blooms. The flowers are excellent for cutting and attracting butterflies and bees in abundance. This compact cultivar is ideal for the front of sunny borders, cottage gardens, wildflower meadows, or containers. The white flowers combine beautifully with virtually any colour scheme and help to lighten and brighten planting combinations.
