Tomato 'Summerlast' F1
Common name: Tomato
Description: 'Summerlast' F1 is a groundbreaking patio tomato — the first blight-resistant dwarf variety — specifically bred for UK conditions to keep on cropping long after traditional varieties have finished. The compact, determinate plants (only 40–45cm tall) grow happily in a 25cm pot, produce a generous harvest of round, sweet, cocktail-sized fruits throughout late summer and into autumn, and maintain healthy, dark green foliage well into the season thanks to outstanding late blight (Phytophthora infestans) and TMV resistance.
Other benefits: exceptional blight resistance extends the cropping season, compact dwarf habit ideal for small spaces and containers, sweet flavour, very easy to grow, suitable for patios, balconies, and windowsills
Wildlife attraction: Bees and other pollinators visit the yellow flowers, aiding fruit set.
Height & spread (approx.) at maturity: 40–45cm x 35cm
Position: Full sun in a warm, sheltered position — patio, balcony, or windowsill.
Soil pH: Neutral; rich, fertile, moist, well-drained compost or soil.
Moisture: Water regularly and consistently; keep evenly moist. Feed weekly with a tomato fertiliser once in flower.
Winter hardiness: Frost-tender perennial grown as a half-hardy annual; plant out once all risk of frost has passed and bring indoors or discard in autumn.
