Dierama pulcherrimum
Common name: Angel's Fishing Rod
Description: This graceful bulbous perennial creates one of the most elegant displays in the summer garden with its arching stems of pendulous bell-shaped flowers. The narrow, iris-like foliage forms neat clumps from which emerge tall, slender flower stems that bend gracefully under the weight of pink, purple, or white bell-shaped blooms. The flowers dangle along the stems like jewels, creating a magical effect when backlit or caught by gentle breezes. This South African native brings exotic elegance to British borders whilst being surprisingly hardy.
