Dryopteris erythrosora (S-E)
Common name: Autumn Fern
Description: This semi-evergreen fern offers spectacular seasonal colour changes that make it one of the most ornamental ferns for British gardens. Young fronds emerge in spring with brilliant copper-orange tones before maturing to glossy dark green. The triangular fronds are beautifully divided and create an elegant, arching habit. In autumn, the foliage often returns to bronze and copper shades, hence the common name. This hardy fern forms slowly expanding clumps and provides excellent textural contrast in shaded areas.
Other benefits: outstanding spring and autumn colour, elegant architectural form, low maintenance

Height & spread (approx.) at 10 years: 60cm x 80cm
Position: partial to full shade; requires protection from strong winds
