A versatile deciduous shrub, commonly known as Common spindle tree, that earns its place in borders and mixed plantings, notable for fine autumn tints.

Reaching around 2m tall by 2m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Notable for pink fruits. Fully hardy throughout the UK and valuable for wildlife, attracting bees and birds. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
