A reliable evergreen shrub, commonly known as Japanese spindle, well suited to UK gardens, providing year-round structure and foliage.

Growing to around 2m tall by 3m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil and is drought-tolerant once established. It produces white flowers, with red fruits. Reliably hardy across most of the UK.
