x Fatshedera lizei
A reliable evergreen shrub, commonly known as Aralia ivy, well suited to UK gardens, grown for its green flowers in autumn.
Growing to around 1.5m tall by 3m wide at 10 years. Happy in sun or partial shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil and is drought-tolerant once established. Notable for black fruits. Hardy in sheltered gardens, benefiting from a warm wall or winter protection in colder spots and the flowers are a good nectar source for bees. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
