Geranium x cantabrigiense 'Cambridge'
Common name: Cambridge Cranesbill
Description: Geranium x cantabrigiense 'Cambridge' is one of the finest ground-covering hardy geraniums, forming a dense, weed-suppressing carpet of attractively lobed, semi-evergreen foliage with a pleasant aromatic quality. In early summer it produces a generous flush of soft, clear pink flowers held just above the foliage, followed by sporadic re-flowering later in the season. The foliage takes on warm reddish tints in autumn, extending the plant's ornamental season. It is exceptionally adaptable, growing well in sun, partial shade, and even quite deep shade, and tolerates dry conditions once established — a genuinely outstanding, low-maintenance ground cover for a wide range of garden situations.
Other benefits: superb weed-suppressing ground cover; tolerates dry shade — one of very few plants to do so well; aromatic foliage; attractive autumn tints
Wildlife attraction: bees and other pollinating insects
Height & spread (approx.) at 10 years: 25–30cm x 60–80cm
