Hakonechloa macra

A graceful semi-evergreen ornamental grass, commonly known as Hakone grass, valued for its natural habit, grown for its yellow flowers in summer.

It grows to around 0.45m tall with a spread of 0.5m. Happy in sun or partial shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Fully hardy throughout the UK and a useful plant for birds. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
