Helichrysum italicum (Curry Plant)
(Full plant info in our Plant Finder)
Common name: Curry Plant
Description: This aromatic Mediterranean evergreen shrub is grown primarily for its intensely fragrant silvery-grey foliage that releases a distinctive curry-like scent when brushed or crushed, though it's not actually used in curry dishes. The narrow, needle-like leaves create a soft, textural mound of silver throughout the year. In mid to late summer, clusters of bright golden-yellow button-like flowers appear atop the stems, creating a cheerful display that buzzes with pollinators. The compact, low-growing habit and drought tolerance make it ideal for gravel gardens, Mediterranean-style planting, herb gardens, or the front of sunny borders. The aromatic foliage can be used in potpourri.
