A reliable evergreen shrub, commonly known as Japanese holly, well suited to UK gardens, providing year-round structure and foliage.

Growing to around 2.5m tall by 2m wide at 10 years. Happy in partial to light shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Notable for black fruits and ornamental grey stems. Fully hardy throughout the UK and the fruits provide food for birds.
