Ilex x altaclerensis 'Golden King' (m/v)

An excellent evergreen large shrub or small tree, commonly known as Highclere hybrid holly, for structure and long-term presence, providing year-round structure and foliage.

Growing to around 3m tall by 2m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Notable for red fruits. Fully hardy throughout the UK and the fruits provide food for birds. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
