An interesting deciduous conifer, commonly known as Japanese larch,, well suited to a range of garden conditions, notable for fine autumn tints.

Growing to around 5.5m tall by 1.2m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and needs good drainage. Notable for attractive red bark and brown fruits. Fully hardy throughout the UK and the fruits provide food for birds.
