Laurus nobilis - Cone (Bay)
A handsome evergreen tree that makes a fine specimen in the garden, valued for its fragrant yellow flowers.
Reaching around 2.5m tall by 1m wide at 10 years. Happy in sun or partial shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil and is drought-tolerant once established. Notable for attractive black bark and black fruits. Hardy in most UK gardens and the flowers are a good nectar source for bees. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
