Ligustrum ovalifolium

A versatile semi-evergreen shrub, commonly known as Oval leaf privet, that earns its place in borders and mixed plantings, prized for its sweetly scented white blooms.

Reaching around 3m tall by 3m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil and is drought-tolerant once established. Notable for ornamental brown stems. Reliably hardy across most of the UK and valuable for wildlife, attracting bees and birds.
