A first-rate deciduous tree, commonly known as American sweet gum, offering real character in the landscape, prized for its autumn colour.
Expect it to reach around 8m tall by 4m wide at 10 years. It is best in full sun, in acid to neutral soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Notable for attractive grey bark. Fully hardy throughout the UK and a useful plant for bees.
