A first-rate deciduous tree, commonly known as Eating apple, offering real character in the landscape.
Expect it to reach around 2m tall by 2m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Notable for green fruits. Hardy in most conditions and valuable for wildlife, attracting bees and birds. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.

A good tasting dessert apple that becomes sweeter as it ages. It matures to a greenish yellow, smooth looking. It is a product of East Malling Research station in Kent and was introduced in 1966. The apple is ready for picking in early September and is eaten as soon as it's picked! Rootstock MM106 (Semi-vigorous) - up to 3-5m in height - larger, robust tree for grassed orchards, not suitable for small gardens, may need support for 5 years.
