A first-rate deciduous tree, commonly known as Cooking & eating apple, offering real character in the landscape.
Expect it to reach around 3m tall by 3m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Notable for red fruits. Hardy in most conditions and valuable for wildlife, attracting bees and birds. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
