A garden-worthy deciduous herbaceous perennial, easy to establish and generous in flower.
It grows to around 0.6m tall with a spread of 0.6m. Happy in partial to light shade on most soils, and prefers moisture-retentive soil. Fully hardy throughout the UK and valuable for wildlife, attracting bees and butterflies.

This mint has fat oval leaves with a matt, rather woolly surface and impressed veining. It is visually attractive, especially in the early stages of growth. It is also one of the best for mint sauce. The name apple mint is said to derive from the similarity of its fragrance of to russet apples.
