Mespilus germanica 'Nottingham' (F) - Medlar on Quince A root

A handsome deciduous tree, commonly known as Small fruited medlar, that makes a fine specimen in the garden, valued for its fragrant flowers.

Reaching around 4m tall by 4m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and prefers moisture-retentive soil. Notable for good autumn colour and attractive orange bark and brown fruits. Fully hardy throughout the UK and valuable for wildlife, attracting bees and birds. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
