Nepeta x faassenii 'Purrsian Blue'
Common name: Catmint
Description: Nepeta x faassenii 'Purrsian Blue' is a superbly free-flowering catmint producing a dense, weed-suppressing mound of soft grey-green, aromatic foliage smothered from late spring in long, graceful spikes of deep violet-blue flowers. It flowers over an exceptionally long season, and cutting back after the first flush in midsummer encourages a vigorous second flush of blooms well into autumn. Its mounding, spreading habit makes it ideal for border edging, gravel gardens, and the fronts of sunny beds where it softens hard edges with a relaxed, cottage charm.
Other benefits: long flowering season, fragrant foliage, excellent edging plant, drought tolerant, weed suppressing, low maintenance, RHS Award of Garden Merit
Wildlife attraction: bees, bumblebees, and butterflies are strongly attracted to the flowers — one of the finest border plants for pollinators
