Expect it to reach around 1m tall by 1.2m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and needs good drainage and is drought-tolerant once established. Notable for ornamental brown stems. Hardy in sheltered gardens, benefiting from a warm wall or winter protection in colder spots.
