A reliable deciduous shrub well suited to UK gardens, grown for its red flowers in summer, autumn.

Growing to around 0.5m tall by 0.75m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and needs good drainage and is drought-tolerant once established. Fully hardy throughout the UK and valuable for wildlife, attracting bees and butterflies.
