A handsome deciduous tree that makes a fine specimen in the garden.

Reaching around 6m tall by 3m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Notable for attractive purple bark and red fruits. Fully hardy throughout the UK and valuable for wildlife, attracting bees and birds. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
