An attractive deciduous shrub, commonly known as Purple-leaf sand cherry, that performs well in a range of garden settings.
Expect it to reach around 2m tall by 2m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Fully hardy throughout the UK and a useful plant for bees. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
