Punica granatum (Pomegranate)
An attractive deciduous shrub, commonly known as Pomegranate, that performs well in a range of garden settings, notable for fine autumn tints.
Expect it to reach around 2m tall by 1.5m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun on most soils, and needs good drainage and is drought-tolerant once established. It produces orange flowers in summer, autumn, with yellow fruits. Hardy in sheltered gardens, benefiting from a warm wall or winter protection in colder spots.
