Expect it to reach around 5m tall by 4m wide at 10 years. It is best in full sun, in acid soils, and needs good drainage and is drought-tolerant once established. Notable for attractive grey bark. Fully hardy throughout the UK and valuable for wildlife, attracting bees and birds.
