Common name: Hybrid Tea Rose 'Nostalgie'

Description: Rosa 'Nostalgie' is a captivating and highly distinctive Hybrid Tea rose raised by Tantau, whose large, classically formed, high-centred blooms combine two richly contrasting tones in a bicolour effect of considerable elegance and originality. The generously sized flowers open from elegant, spiralled buds to reveal creamy-ivory to white inner petals that are strikingly edged and suffused with deep, velvety crimson-red, creating a dramatic two-tone effect that gives each bloom an almost hand-painted quality of great refinement. The flowers are carried on strong, upright stems — making them excellent for cutting — and are produced with good continuity throughout the summer and into autumn. A pleasing, moderate fragrance accompanies the blooms, adding a further dimension to this already highly rewarding variety. The foliage is a glossy, deep green that provides a handsome and disease-resistant backdrop to the flamboyant flowers, and the overall habit is upright, well-branched, and reliably vigorous. 'Nostalgie' is an outstanding choice for the formal rose garden, mixed borders, and as a cut flower variety, where its dramatic bicolour blooms make a striking and conversation-worthy addition to any arrangement.

Other benefits: dramatic bicolour blooms excellent for cutting; good continuous flowering from summer to autumn; pleasant fragrance; glossy, disease-resistant foliage; strong, upright habit well suited to formal rose beds and mixed borders
